A very impressive performance from Hanwell Town saw them breeze past Havant & Waterlooville on Tuesday night (27.10.26). A brace from Henry Snee and Jordan Esprit along with goals from Harry Hoath and Zak Joseph gave the Geordies three important points.
It was the home side that started quicker. A strong run from Esprit down the left saw his shot saved just five minutes in. Eight minutes later, the Geordies took the lead. A corner bounced around in the box before finding Hoath who stabbed home from inside the six-yard box.
After taking the lead, Hanwell had to soak up from pressure from the away side. But it was the Geordies that struck next. A deflected cross came in from the left and Snee was on hand to poach in the box, giving Kerbey no chance and doubling the Geordies lead.
And Hanwell didn’t stop there. 2 minutes from the break, some brilliant one-touch build up play between Dan Carr and Roberto Nditi found Snee in the box, who poked home for his second and Hanwell’s third.
A brilliant first half from the Geordies saw them go into the break with a three-goal advantage.
Coming out from half time, the away side asked some questions of the Hanwell defence. 53 minutes in, Havant pulled a goal back through Leon Maloney.
This didn’t raise any alarm for Hanwell though. 13 minutes later, Esprit was put through on goal, he rounded Kerbey and was subsequently pulled down by the goalkeeper, conceding a penalty. Esprit calmly stepped up and slotted home, renewing the Geordies three goal advantage.
Hanwell continued to pile on the pressure with a great chance coming through Ibby Sankoh, but he fired his shot high and over the bar.
15 minutes from full time, it was Esprit again who found himself through on goal. This time he calmly chipped the ball over Kerbey from the 18-yard line, securing his second of the night.
And to cap off a brilliant night for Hanwell, four minutes from time, Joseph’s deflected shot from outside the box wrongfooted Kerbey giving Hanwell a sixth goal, perfectly reflecting the performance from the Geordies and giving them a dominant 6-1 win.
Hanwell are next in action on Saturday when they face Gosport Borough on the south coast. But they return to action in West London on Saturday 7th November when Evesham travel to UB6 for a 3pm kick off.
