Hanwell Football Club formed by J.D Brayne. J.R Mathias, John Wark & Charles Richins with the original club playing in pink and black and bearing the nickname ‘The Lunatics’. Hanwell beat Brentford in 1897 to win the West Middlesex Cup but then folded in 1912
Hanwell Town FC are formed by workers from the Northeast of England, adopting the black and white stripes of Newcastle United and the Geordies nickname. However, they struggled financially and folded after 7 years.
The club were re-founded as the Hanwell Town Sports and Social Club but the focus was eventually brought back to football. Hanwell Town’s rebirth was pushed by North-East native Ron Walker
Bob Fisher makes his debut for Hanwell Town in a defeat to Wood End Reserves. He would then go on to manage the first team squad and is currently the president of The Geordies.
The club moves from the Ealing Central Playing Fields to Reynolds Field in Perivale. Floodlights were then installed in 1983 with the occasion being inaugurated with a friendly against a Tottenham Hotspur XI featuring Chris Houghton.
Hanwell Town would win two successive London Senior Cups. The first was a 4-3 victory over AFC Croydon Athletic at the home of Corinthian-Casuals. This was then followed up the next season with beating Brimsdown Rovers 4-2 at Wingate & Finchley.
Phil Player becomes Hanwell’s leading appearance maker after reaching 640 games for the Geordies, this record still stands.
Under the leadership of Ray Duffy Hanwell Town won the Spartan South Midlands League title with a staggering 111 points with only one league defeat across the whole 2013/14 campaign.
Hanwell Town secured promotion to The Southern League Premier Division South in the most dramatic fashion possible. The 10-men of Chris Moore & Wayne Carter beat local rivals Chertsey Town 3-2 in extra time with goals from Dwayne Duncan, Tom Collins & Ogo Obi.
In front of a packed Oliver Connell & Son Community Stadium, The Geordies cruised to a 3-0 victory against Brentford ‘B’. Winning their first London Senior Cup since the 1990s
